Let’s be candid for a moment. Renovating is rewarding and challenging, but it’s not something that most people do for the fun of it. The process of doing a major household upgrade like a kitchen renovation is to enjoy the end result, not love every minute of the renovation. But that doesn’t mean that we haven’t gone out of our way at Smart Kitchen to ensure that your particular renovation is as straightforward and pain-free as possible.
That’s why our flat pack kitchen cabinets are fully assembled for you when they are delivered. That’s a major difference to some of the other options on the market (like those from giant Swedish furniture retailers). And as professionals in the field, we keep an eye on social media for what our competitors are doing. It turns out that Twitter is a gold mine for funny (as long as it’s not you) tweets about the pain of putting together a DIY flat pack kitchen that doesn’t come fully assembled like ours do.
Appliance Accidents
One of the recurring themes we see online with flat pack kitchens from other manufacturers is how the appliances fit (badly) in the gaps left for them by the flat pack cabinets. Often, the gaps are way too tight, or not practical when it comes to actually operating oven doors or opening fridges. It might look fine when everything is closed, but having an open fridge door that completely blocks the oven is not an ideal design.
Delivery Details
Of course, the other benefit of working with a local, friendly company like Smart Kitchen is that we are members of the community, with dedicated staff and three local stores. That means that we schedule our deliveries to suit you-you don’t have to worry about trying to squeeze everything into your car.
We can be contacted at any time to reschedule or iron out any problems. As anyone who has dealt with a large phone company, bank or insurer knows, the bigger they get, the harder they are to get in contact with. And our kitchen flat pack competitors are no different. Social media is full of stories about late, incomplete or sometimes, just wrong deliveries happening.
Which is annoying, but not unforgivable: everyone is human after all. But it’s not fine when it seems to take days or even weeks to get the problem sorted out. No one needs that when you’ve got tradies booked or have taken time off work to complete your kitchen renovation, but no kitchen to install!
Longevity Issues
Cheap often comes with a limited shelf life, especially when it’s mass produced. At Smart Kitchen , our focus is budget kitchens for DIY renovators and new home buyers, and we don’t compromise on quality. That means that once your kitchen is fully installed, it should last the test of time. And of course, if you have any problems, you can get us on the phone or in one of our three showrooms at any time.
Unfortunately, the same doesn’t seem to be true with the mass produced flat pack kitchens from our larger competitors. And because they are sold by general sales staff, not kitchen specialists, if there are problems after install, these staff aren’t in a good position to actually help you out.
Relationship Savers
Let’s face it, assembling a flat pack kitchen is time-consuming. If you have ever put together a simple flatpack bookcase or filing cabinet, only to have your spouse tell you afterwards that you have the edges on back to front, you’ll understand that fully assembled cabinets will save time, frustration and fights.
This is a key reason why we provide our kitchens fully assembled.
Smart Kitchen has been helping renovators with their kitchen projects for years. We’re specialists with three showrooms in Preston, Maribyrnong and Kilsyth, and our friendly, experienced team are always ready to help you troubleshoot and plan so that when your kitchen is delivered and installed, it works first time.
