Smart Kitchen Maribyrnong has created a unique kitchen renovation for this retiree’s lifestyle.
The tight, long and narrow kitchen space created a unique design opportunity. Professional design was critical in helping to use every inch of the space. Other important considerations in this kitchen renovation were the placement of sink, oven, cooktop, and fridge.
The couple identified that they needed a more functional kitchen on a budget. As the showroom was on their way to Highpoint Shopping Centre, they dropped into Smart Kitchen Maribyrnong. San, from our showroom, embraced the challenge and identified the need to relocate the fridge further down in the space and the cooktop into the centre of the kitchen space. This helped to improve the functionality and flow.
The changes were difficult to imagine, however, San used Smart Kitchen ’s 3D Design software to design and show virtual real-life images of their kitchen. This helped our customers visualise exactly what their space would look like and how it would work.
Designing to their budget, the choice of IAG Cooktop and Rangehood from Smart Kitchen was perfect to keep within the specified range.
The slide-out rangehood with under-bench lighting and the addition of a tall pantry to organise all food staples is a delight for the customers. Other key design components included towering the oven and microwave to better use the space and provide more bench space.
The dining table which adjoins the kitchen area is now perfectly positioned to easily place culinary meals prepared in the new kitchen.
The result is a bright, more functional workflow with more benchtop space. One of the customer’s favourites are the pot drawers that provide additional storage.
This u-shaped kitchen is now open and has more benchtop space at a fraction of the price you would expect to pay elsewhere. We know this because these customers had shopped around!

Inspire Matt White cabinetry in this Flat Pack Kitchen Renovation
A few cleverly designed parts of this kitchen are the uniformity of the Inspire white matt cabinetry with black slimline handles. The cooktop and slide-out range-hood are now the central space at the end. The improved layout increased benchtop space for meal preparations has improved the flow from cooktop to sink and made cooking easier.
Smart Kitchen ’s pantry has created an organised space for the daily staples and the pot drawers underneath the oven provide easy reach of all those pots and pans.
